Welcome to the George's Valley website!

George's Valley is situated between Polokwane and Tzaneen in the Limpopo Province.  It's heart is the Groot Letaba river as it journeys through gully and gorge, making it's way from Ebenezer Dam down to Tzaneen Dam.

The George's Valley Community is a prime example of "Ubunthu" - making a better place for everyone'.  The picturesque valley, situated on the R528 between Haenertsburg and Tzaneen is well known for its beauty and friendly inhabitants.

The farmers in the valley are well known for their help and support to locals and tourists alike.  Heavy vehicles often underestimate the sharp turns and thus end up somewhere in a crevice.  Fortunately for them the GVA reaction team is close by and with the help of sponsors a beautiful, fully equipped trailer was built with all the necessary equipment to help at accident scenes and roadblocks.

The farmers of the Valley formed the Georges Valley Association a few years ago, with the main aim being security.  A group of young dedicated farmers are well trained and equipped to handle any potential danger that might threaten the valley.  Most of these members belong to either the Commando or the Police Reservists and are often used by these organisations for back-up.

All members are in contact with one another with a very informal radio network, consisting in the region of 90 radio's.  This network has spread to Agatha, Haenertsburg, Magoebaskloof and the rescue services in Tzaneen.

Next time you are in George’s Valley, stop and enjoy the beauty of the area.  All visitors, passers-by and tourists are most welcome.
